Dr Andrew Watkins

BOH, BDent (Hons), MB,BS, FRACDS (OMS)

Dr. Andrew “Wal” Watkins was raised in Orange, in the Central West region of New South Wales. He has an extensive academic background, having earned bachelor’s degrees in Oral Health Therapy, Dentistry, and Medicine/Surgery from the University of Sydney.

Dr. Watkins completed his residency training at St. George Hospital and the Sutherland Hospital, followed by specialist Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery training at several highly-regarded institutions, including Westmead and Prince of Wales Hospitals in Sydney, The Canberra Hospital, and The John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle.

Dr. Watkins has a strong interest in several areas of his field, including dentoalveolar surgery, facial trauma, and oral pathology. He is currently undertaking a combined temporomandibular joint surgery and orthognathic surgery fellowship in Sydney.

Dr. Watkins is a Locum VMO Consultant of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Prince of Wales Hospital. He is also a passionate educator and has been appointed as an Adjunct Senior Lecturer at Charles Sturt University’s dental school, where he shares his extensive knowledge with future generations of dental professionals.

When not engaged in his professional pursuits, Dr. Watkins enjoys spending quality time with his young family. Although his busy schedule limits his free time, he still likes to indulge in activities such as swimming, reading, and golf whenever possible
